What should I expect during my initial consultation?

During your consultation, Dr. Doss will review your medical history, discuss your concerns and objectives, and perform a detailed examination of your eyes and the surrounding areas. Dr. Doss will then provide tailored treatment recommendations based on your individual needs.

 

How long does a consultation with Dr. Doss typically last?
Consultations with Dr. Doss can vary in length depending on the complexity of your case and the level of discussion required. Typically, you should plan for approximately 30 minutes to an hour for your initial consultation.

What information should I bring to my consultation?
It is helpful to bring a list of any medications you are currently taking, relevant medical records or test results, and a list of questions or concerns you have regarding your condition or the proposed treatment options.

Will I receive a treatment plan during my consultation?
Yes, after evaluating your condition and discussing your goals, Dr. Doss will outline a personalized treatment plan for you. This plan may include recommendations for surgical or non-surgical procedures, along with information on the associated risks, benefits, and expected outcomes.

Are there non-surgical options available for my condition?
Depending on your specific condition and objectives, Dr. Doss may recommend non-surgical treatments, such as injectable fillers, Botox®, or topical medications. Dr. Doss will discuss all available options to help you choose the best approach for your needs.

Is there a cancellation fee if I can't make my appointment?​

We do not currently have a cancellation fee in place. With that being said, please notify the office at least 24 hours in advance for any appointment changes and cancellations and we will do our best to accommodate.

How much does a consultation cost?
The cost of a consultation with Dr. Doss is $100. This is consistent for all appointments including cosmetic, non-cosmetic, and ER/Urgent care referrals.

Does Doss MD accept insurance?​

Doss MD is a boutique office, and is the only office in Santa Barbara exclusively dedicated to Oculoplastics. Our mission is to deliver exceptional care and attention to each patient, crafting personalized treatment plans tailored to their unique needs in close coordination with their care team. We understand that navigating insurance can be complex and sometimes restrictive. That's why we've made the decision not to bill to insurance. By doing so, we can maintain the flexibility needed to provide you with individualized care and attention.

What are the next steps after consulting with Dr. Doss?
Following your consultation, you will have the opportunity to schedule any recommended procedures or further diagnostic tests. Dr. Doss's office will also provide detailed pre-operative instructions and arrange any necessary follow-up appointments.
